Creation[]
After receiving the Governorship of Nova Scotia, Simon Pratton sought to create a regiment of volunteers to thank His Majesty for his generosity. Pratton and his brother, Richard, immediately set about recruiting locals and equipping them with fine weaponry, built by local blacksmiths. The Regiment, once mustered in 1747 numbered 1005 men.

The regiment was used in 1748 by the.British Government to train Sardinian forces, and then act as a military attache to Sardinia. The Regiment saw minor combat with African rebels, and proved to be an effective and well lead force.
The Regiments Patron is Prime Minister, Johnny Goldtimbers.
